Arc Weld Robot Controller
We were approached by a high-tech arc weld robot manufacturer to work on the development and subsequent production of a panel together with the associated wiring for a control unit used for oil pipe welding robots, destined for use in Dubai.
After the initial development stage by our technical team our dedicated sub-assembly section completed the project on-time and to the required build standard. |

Specialist Control Systems Manufacturer
One of our long-standing customers was subject to a takeover by a US company, due to their expertise in specialist control systems.
This resulted in a large increase in demand, so they turned to Connect-2 Technology to provide DIN rail wiring assemblies which form part of the diesel power control unit used on the latest US container freight trains. The trains themselves are monsters at up to 2.5km (over 1.5 miles) in length and hauling container wagons, often stacked two high!
Connect-2's technical team converted the customers existing drawings and specifications to our own 'in-house' requirements and produced the initial samples to meet the customer deadline in record time, enabling swift transition to our production unit for ongoing manufacture. |

Specialised Cable Assemblies
Extreme environments require highly specialised cable and connector solutions to provide totally dependable interconnections, ensuring the integrity of power and data transmissions between connected equipment. One such high value connector range is that of USA manufacturer Glenair, with a broad range covering military qualified and multi-purpose industrial connectors.
As a testament to Connect-2 Technology's versatility and skill we have successfully undertaken a number of high profile assemblies for oil and gas industry projects incorporating Glenair's “Geo-Marine®” range. This range has been specifically designed to offer a solution for a variety of oceanographic, geophysical and other extreme applications.
Our assemblies have been used in some of the most demanding environments imaginable, working under extreme pressure within oil and gas structural surveying equipment.

Mobility Scooters
Due to rapidly increasing demand a manufacturer of mobility scooters needed to quickly increase production capacity to keep pace with sales growth. Expansion of the current site or moving to new premises and employing additional personnel was not considered an option, so the company made the decision to move to outsourcing.
Connect-2 Technology was appointed as the UK sub-contract manufacturer for all component parts for the rear bumper and front light units. These were both supplied as fully wired complete assemblies ready for final fit.
We also switched certain components after customer approval to Far East supply enabling further cost savings to be made.

Specialist Equipment
Connect-2 Technology developed a control harness for a robotic fully self-contained electrically powered commercial grass cutting machine, which combines a conventional cutting unit with an advanced laser-guided steering system for un-attended precision grass cutting and rolling.
Working closely with the customer, over a number of months, our technical department developed the complete control wiring harness through various design builds to final production stage. Our skilled technicians were able to provide invaluable help with regard to material and connector specifications, resulting in a reliable and economic solution.

High & Low Voltage Power Supplies
A world leader in the design and manufacture of low and high voltage power supplies had a need for a single source partner for wiring and cable assemblies in the UK, having undertaken a major re-organisation to re-align it's business and manufacturing processes.
Connect-2 technicians took control of all CAD drawings and specifications to accurately replicate the existing manufacturing information, which enabled a smooth and speedy transition to full out-sourcing within a few weeks.
Our technical department now generate all development harnesses and documentation for all new products whilst our manufacturing facility provides the entire requirement for all production wiring and cable assemblies.

Baggage Handling Systems Manufacturer
One of our longstanding major customers, a European manufacturer of material and baggage handling systems, secured a major contract to supply a Canadian Airport with a back-site system.
Our Technical department ensured total compliance for the Canadian market by evaluating all wire, connector parts & sundry items. The harness was then re-designed to incorporate all the necessary material changes to comply with the required standards in order to attain CSA approval. |

Electrical Switchgear Manufacturer
A prestigious UK switchgear manufacturer, selling to global markets, required a single source partner for wiring and panel assemblies as part of their adoption of ‘lean-manufacturing' principles to ensure their future position as a global leader.
Working mostly from physical samples our technicians produced CAD drawings and all relevant manufacturing documentation. Connect-2 purchasing secured supply and approvals for PCB's, Metalwork, Metalwork Coatings, Hardware, Switches, etc. Production routings were then finalised and training of the final assembly section was completed.
To date we are the sole UK supplier of wirework and wired panels and work closely with the customer on all new projects. |
