| Q: How do you
ensure Connect-2 Technology maintains competitive pricing and consistent
quality? A: We have invested heavily in the latest technology to maximise automation of many of our processes, such as wire cutting, automatic tinning, termination & marking. We are a long-established company with a highly trained and skilled workforce able to invest in the stock and tooling to get your job done correctly, 'on time' and at a highly competitive price. | Q: Do you
have experience in converting customers from 'in-house' production to
'out-sourcing'? A: Over several years we have developed many customers who have adopted "lean-manufacturing" principles by transferring from departmental to sub-contract arrangements. Whilst maintaining strict confidentiality we have provided a comprehensive service enabling cost savings through reduced stock holding, vendor base reduction, lower capital equipment investment, release of shop-floor space and better labour usage. |
| Q: Can you
provide a quick response to new quote requests and engineering modifications to
existing assemblies? A: Our technical team are highly skilled and resourced to provide a rapid response to new quote enquiries with full access to specialized technical information from all major manufacturers. Changes to existing assemblies are made strictly in-line with customer requirements and are controlled by a Document Control Notice system to ensure production is only to the latest issue level. |
| Q: How do you
verify customer despatches are made on time? A: Non pull-style orders are reviewed on receipt to ensure that the required date is both within our quoted lead-time and our current capacity. Once acknowledged, sales orders are subject to continuous review. Kan-ban orders are delivered 'on-time' within the pre-agreed delivery period. Top of page |
|
| Q: What
batch sizes are you prepared to handle? A: For general production cable assemblies and wiring harness looms the minimum order requirement is 25pcs whilst the minimum for single wires is just 100pcs. We can also undertake sample 'one-off' builds for pre-production and prototypes (Note: all subject to a minimum order charge of £35). Generally we handle small to medium volume batches from our UK factory, with large volume and specialist moulded assemblies being produced in the Far East. Top of page |
|
| Q: What
methods are used to trace production batches and what manufacturing controls
are in place? A: All aspects of our business are controlled by a fully integrated electronic manufacturing system linking sales, purchase and manufacturing functions via MRP. Each batch is individually bar-coded to enable progress monitoring throughout the full manufacturing process (from kitting to final despatch). Records of customer despatches are held to allow traceability of individual product batches. Top of page |
|
| Q: How
flexible are you with regard to customer label requirements? A: We provide a wide choice in both wire marking and batch identification including bar code facilities. Utilising systems from Brady, Critchley, Partex, etc. as well as high-speed direct printing on to wires or heat shrink sleeving presents a permanent solution for any marking requirements you may have. |
| Q: Does
Connect-2 Technology subject all assemblies to an in-line test? A: All functional assemblies are 100% tested using one of our Cirris in-line test facilities or, where required, in-house custom test jigs can be built to check specific functionality. Top of page |
|
| Q: What
procedures are in place for ensuring the integrity of crimp
terminations? A: All crimp terminations are made in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations. Each batch has a 'first-off' approval process to ensure compliance to the manufacturers specifications. This includes crimp height measurement and pull-off testing. Only when the 'first-off' has been approved is the batch released for production. Top of page |
|
| Q: What
methods of delivery do you use? A: Our standard delivery method is by 'Next Day' carrier (any time up to 4:00pm next day) carriage paid on all orders over £200. However, other options are possible including; before 12:00am, before 10:00am, Saturday morning, etc. chargeable at our cost. Top of page |
